New Wool

Earlier this week I ordered wool from the internet for the first time, using www.woolwarehouse.com
It was great! I think I'll be ordering from them from now on. I ordered around midday and my new wool arrived the next morning, I was really pleased at how fast they got to me!

I had seen a lot of people on instagram using DROPS wool, so I thought I'd see what they were like. Firstly, I was amazed at the prices! normally I would pay around £6 for a 50g ball of Rowan/Sublime wool, however DROPS wool ranges from around £1.40 to £3.60. This lead me to think that their wool may be of lesser quality, but thankfully I was wrong! I was soooo impressed by the quality of all the wool I bought, its squishy, cosy and smells nice! (weird of me?)

I bought a few different types of wool to see what DROPS had to offer, I went with Baby Merino, Extra Fine Merino, Paris - which is 100% Cotton, and Cotton Light - which is 50%/50% Polyester Cotton. I also tried out the limited edition 'Love You 3' line, which is a hand dyed alpaca and wool blend. I love the way it comes in a hank, and it is really beautiful wool, so much that I don't want to use it! but at £1.70 a hank, (amazing) its affordable to buy as many as I like!

Here are some pictures of said wool:

They came compacted into a plastic post bag, so squishy!

The poly-cotton has a slight sheen to it, and the merino blends are really lovely to work with.

Cute little wool balls

My favourites! These beauties will be staying on show until I find a cute pattern for them.

Did I mention the post & packaging was free? All in all, a great success! I'll be using these for a few little projects I have in mind, which will feature shortly!

Georgie xoxo
